Excuse Me, Please, Which Way is America Going?

Ramon Arias | April 27, 2015

I was listening to Hillary Clinton’s speech given at the sixth annual Women in the World Summit (April 22-24, 2015). Believe it or not, I did listen to her and it is not the only time I have paid attention to anything Clinton. The first time goes back to when they occupied the White House. Why do I care? Well, in all truthfulness, it’s not just because it is Hillary, it’s about her ideas and how she implements them. It is about her beliefs and what they have done to America and the world. Also, I am not overlooking the fact that she is in the hot seat for multiple questionable actions that demand answers and we can only hope the true light will reveal all that needs to be known.

When I first heard that the Clintons claimed to be evangelicals, it was with special interest that I paid attention to their worldview. It is no different than with others who have lived in the White House beginning with the first occupants, President and Mrs. John Adams on November 1, 1800, who professed to be Christians, all the way to the current occupants, the Obamas, who also claim to be Christians.

See if you can understand Hillary’s vision for the future of America and see if it mirrors yours:

“All the laws we pass don’t count for much if they are not enforced. Rights have to exist in practice not just on paper. Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will and deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”

In between her much rehashed political jargon, she brought up the condemnation of the Christian-owned company Hobby Lobby for not providing employees with abortive pills. She then went on to say:

“We move forward, when gay and transgendered women are embraced as our colleagues and friends, not fired from good jobs because of who they love or for who they are. We move forward when women who came to this country in search of a better life can earn a path to citizenship.”

Her vision is to move forward with the vision of fundamentally transforming the nation to the point of exterminating Biblical Christian belief from our culture and giving way to a new America that the Forefathers and Founding Fathers would not possibly recognize.

Compare Hillary’s comments above where she spoke at the event that took place at the David H. Koch Theater at the Lincoln Center with the one below where she was interviewed less than a year ago on June 11, 2014 by The New York Times: “Hillary Rodham Clinton: By the Book.” One of the questions she was asked was:

If you had to name one book that made you who you are today, what would it be?

“At the risk of appearing predictable, the Bible was and remains the biggest influence on my thinking. I was raised reading it, memorizing passages from it and being guided by it. I still find it a source of wisdom, comfort and encouragement.”

How many political leaders do you know of that have said the same thing in this nation and other nations, especially in Europe? And, what has been the outcome of their profession of “faith and adherence” to the Bible? Unabridged and unrevised history doesn’t lie, does it?

How many millions of professing Christians think like Hillary? Do you understand now my interest in evangelicals like the Clintons? What is astonishing about them is not that they are career politicians, rather their profession of the Christian faith and what they claim and proclaim that they have gained from the Bible, the Revealed Word of God.

For over two hundred years, the majority of Christians in America began the journey of fundamentally transforming the nation. America is on a downward spiral not because of “those in government,” or in the “Corporate world,” or in “Academia,” or “Hollywood,” it’s not even the fault of the “Bogeyman.” If bad ideas are in control it’s because there is a vast absence of good ones. This is a no-brainer.

We must be honest and accept that the outcome of our country’s cultural moral decay is the consequence of Christians not responding to God’s calling to be the “salt and light” of the world. What this means is we must express the fullness of life given to us in Christ, which makes everything conform to God’s ethics. Christians have the mind of Christ, and if it is not used, everything truly good is lost.

Let us not fear what outsiders can do to America; let us tremble at the negligence of Christian America and what it is not doing to fulfill all the things we have been commissioned to do.

"There is no nation on earth powerful enough to accomplish our overthrow. Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence. I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men and become the instruments of their own undoing." – Daniel Webster (1782-1852)

Will you stand idly by and let America receive the full-scale judgment of God or are you going to stand up and be counted before Him and His Christ and do your part to turn her back to godliness?

America the Beautiful

Written by: Katherine Lee Bates

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!

America! America!
God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassion'd stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness.

America! America!
God mend thine ev'ry flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law.

O beautiful for heroes prov'd
In liberating strife,
Who more than self their country loved,
And mercy more than life.

America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness,
And ev'ry gain divine.

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears.

America! America!
God shed his grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea.
