Christians Ordered to Shut Up and Be Submissive Sheep

This may not come as a great surprise to you that a federal judge in North Carolina, James A. Beaty Jr., “ruled that commissioners in one local county can’t present prayers only in Jesus’ name even if they all are Christians because doing so isn’t ‘nondiscriminatory’ toward other religions and elevates Christianity in government.” 1

Although Judge Beaty had already sided with the plaintiffs back in July 2013 it wasn’t until Monday, May 4, 2015, when he “issued his final decision, declaring that prayers predominantly in Jesus’ name [are] unconstitutional.” In his decision he wrote, “The practice fails to be nondiscriminatory, entangles government with religion, and over time, establishes a pattern of prayers that tends to advance the Christian faith of the elected commissioners at the expense of any religious affiliation unrepresented by the majority.” 1 

So, in order for the Rowan County commissioner’s prayers to be nondiscriminatory they would now have to end their prayers something like this: We pray this in the name of the nonexistent God, Allah, Buddha, lord Krishna and the millions of Hindu gods, all the spirits of the occult, Darwin, Marx, democratic socialists, the God of the Jews, in Jesus’ name and any other name elevated to divinity by humans that we may have missed, okay? Now, let's get to business and only hope we can find our way out of this cultural mess that we have created!

While I do not think that Judge Beaty had this in mind, nevertheless, that is exactly what people have been indoctrinated to believe, that they should not elevate biblical Christianity above anything else that defies political correctness and multiculturalism. History proves that this mindset against the God of the Bible has caused the destruction of great nations and empires. They must know that America cannot, and will not be the exception.

Either Judge Beaty is not familiar with the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, or he is but wants to continue to be part of the judiciary who are going to great lengths to destroy whatever's left of the Constitution in order to establish a democratic socialist nation, where biblical Christianity is forever eradicated from this land.

I want to give Judge Beaty the benefit of doubt, perhaps he has never read the last paragraph in Article VII which in part says, "done in Convention by the Unanimous Consent of the States present the Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven and of the Independence of the United States of America…” 

Judge Beaty, and all Christians and concerned citizens, should know that there are thousands of official documents from the founding era ending with the phrase in “the Year of our Lord.” For the colonists and the Founding Fathers the reference "our Lord" meant no one else but Jesus Christ, so how can it be unconstitutional to mention Jesus Christ?

Believe it or not, even Barack Obama, at the end of his proclamation for National Park Week in April 15, 2011 wrote: "IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this sixteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord two thousand eleven, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-fifth." 2 

Even atheists make reference to the same phrase when they add "A.D." to a date; that is Latin for "Anno Domini" which means "year of the Lord." Let us not forget how hard the secularists have been working to remove the "A.D." and change it to "C.E." which means Common Era. They also don't want the "B.C." which means "Before Christ"; they want this term changed to "B.C.E.," which means "Before Common Era."  By changing the letters they cannot erase the reference to the birth of Jesus Christ. These promoters of tolerance can change all the wordings they want. After all, it is their specialty to fool the ignorant merely by changing words. In the end, this is about the date of the birth of Jesus Christ, which cannot be erased by mere whims of men. 

Maybe Judge Beaty, the Christians and citizens of North Carolina have not read their state Constitution. The preamble states: 

“We, the people of the State of North Carolina, grateful to Almighty God, the Sovereign Ruler of Nations, for the preservation of the American Union and the existence of our civil, political and religious liberties, and acknowledging our dependence upon Him for the continuance of those blessings to us and our posterity, do, for the more certain security thereof and for the better government of this State, ordain and establish this Constitution.”

The state Constitution further establishes the following:

ARTICLE I
DECLARATION OF RIGHTS

Sec. 13.  Religious liberty.

All persons have a natural and inalienable right to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences, and no human authority shall, in any case whatever, control or interfere with the rights of conscience.

ARTICLE VI
SUFFRAGE AND ELIGIBILITY TO OFFICE

Sec. 7.  Oath.

Before entering upon the duties of an office, a person elected or appointed to the office shall take and subscribe the following oath:

"I, _______________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and maintain the Constitution and laws of the United States, and the Constitution and laws of North Carolina not inconsistent therewith, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of my office as _______________, so help me God."

Sec. 8.  Disqualifications for office.

The following persons shall be disqualified for office:

First, any person who shall deny the being of Almighty God.

ARTICLE XI
PUNISHMENTS, CORRECTIONS, AND CHARITIES

Sec. 4.  Welfare policy; board of public welfare.

Beneficent provision for the poor, the unfortunate, and the orphan is one of the first duties of a civilized and a Christian state. Therefore the General Assembly shall provide for and define the duties of a board of public welfare.

North Carolina's Constitution of 1776 was more elaborate in their definitions of biblical Christianity as part of the state life. Nonetheless, the present North Carolina’s Constitution is very clear in its acknowledgment of the God of the Bible as the Sovereign Ruler of nations. It is also clearly established that it was the citizens of North Carolina who created the state and not the other way around.

The same principle applies to the U.S. Constitution, which was created by the government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Let us hope and pray that it is not too late for Christian America and patriots that love the original design of this nation to understand that neither the federal or state government created themselves to be the “lords” of the people, rather, they were delegated a position of servant to the people. Our U.S. Constitution states that it is “We the People” who are the owners and responsible to oversee a just government:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

I cannot emphasize enough that the people of this nation are responsible for the proper function of the state and federal government, as the people themselves are under the Sovereignty of God. The Preamble of the Constitution of the United States is very clear when stating,  "We the people… [must] secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity…" As much as it hurts, we better accept the responsibility that the present national condition is the outcome of "We the people" allowing the servants to do as they please and in the process continue to violate God’s moral law in all areas of society, which includes politics and economics.

If we do not accept to be under the societal structure God has revealed in His Word there can be no liberty, only slavery. “Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty,” 2 Corinthians 3:17. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage [slavery],” Galatians 5:1.

For close to 200 years, federal judges have abused and misused the Constitution. The reason they have been able to get away with so much overreach and have turned this nation into a rebellious one before God and the nations is because they have made the citizenry believe that they are untouchables and there's no force that can stop them from accomplishing an agenda totally foreign to the original cultural foundation of this country. In their minds they have become little gods.

With great passion, Thomas Jefferson was against centralized federal government and warned of unlimited size and power. His views on the judicial branch of the federal government were of great concern because of their power. The federal judges have used and misused Jefferson’s writings to violate the Constitution. I hope they pay attention to a few of the following quotes of the volumes he wrote in reference to the judiciary branch:

“You seem to consider the judges the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions; a very dangerous doctrine indeed, and one which would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy. Our judges … and their power [are] the more dangerous as they are in office for life, and are not responsible, as the other functionaries are, to the elective control. The Constitution has erected no such single tribunal, knowing that to whatever hands confided, with the corruptions of time and party, its members would become despots. It has more wisely made all the departments co-equal and co-sovereign within themselves … . When the legislative or executive functionaries act unconstitutionally, they are responsible to the people in their elective capacity. The exemption of the judges from that is quite dangerous enough. I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society, but the people themselves. ….” — Letter to Mr. Jarvis, September 1820

“The judiciary of the United States is the subtle corps of sappers and miners constantly working underground to undermine our Constitution from a co-ordinate of a general and special government to a general supreme one alone. This will lay all things at their feet. … I will say, that ‘against this every man should raise his voice,’ and, more, should uplift his arm …” — Letter to Thomas Ritchie, September 1820

“… One single object … will entitle you to the endless gratitude of society; that of restraining judges from usurping legislation.” — Letter to Edward Livingston, March 1825

Those who hate the God and Jesus Christ of the Bible are always on the wrong side of history. America was not born to exalt the corruption of political correctness and multiculturalism. America was born to be a light upon a hill for all the nations. So far we have failed but it is never too late. At the very least, we should hope and pray we still have time. In the meantime, let us not be fooled by those who want Christians to shut up and be submissive sheep. Let us not forget who is our Great Shepherd. We are His sheep and answer only to Him. Let’s pay attention to His voice and not the voice of strangers. Let us be witnesses for our Lord with wisdom and boldness. Yes, we are sheep but not to follow after men. Jesus Christ our Lord, the Lion of Judah, has given us His heart and power. Therefore, we fear no man, but God alone.

Those of us who live in North Carolina, we better get busy raising our voices and act upon our God given right and responsibility to support our State legislators to stand against judicial tyranny and comply with their oath of office. Those of you from other States would do well to follow suit and don’t forget to become familiar with your State Constitution and above all God’s moral law and the Christian history of America.
