Of Course Politics Is Vicious and Foul!
Ramon Arias | October 23, 2017“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.” Matthew 7:15-20 (ESV)
Does the worsening of the political backbiting climate in the nation shock you? Well, it shouldn’t. Do you believe that America has never been so divided? Anyone who is dismayed by all the division that is drowning society just doesn’t know human nature or this nation’s history. Most likely the majority agree that such divisiveness can only lead to bigger and regrettable outcomes.
Since the Democrats lost the 2016 presidential election, they have been relentless in their efforts to destroy the Trump presidency. They refuse to accept that their decades of gains in cultural control are crumbling before their eyes. The globalists, socialists, communists and the leftist media have declared a vicious all-out war, not just against our legally elected president but on all those who gave him the victory.
The liberals/progressives can only go lower in their attacks as we have just witnessed how they are politicizing the death of a soldier killed in an ambush in Niger, Africa. The Democrat Rep. Frederica Wilson (FL) listened in on the call between President Trump and the widow of Army Sgt. La David Johnson. Either Rep. Wilson misunderstood or intentionally misconstrued a phrase President Trump used in his conversation with Sgt. Johnson’s widow. But it is very obvious that Rep. Wilson went public to make political points and have her time in the spotlight in opposition to Trump.
White House chief of staff Gen. John Kelly addressed the White House press to defend Trump and lashed out at Rep. Wilson. I’m going to highlight some of Gen. Kelly’s remarks, and I highly recommend you listen to the full content if you have not done so. It is posted on YouTube: John Kelly EMOTIONAL White House Press Briefing 10/19/17.
Who writes letters to the families? Typically, …the service chief, commandant of the Marine Corps, and the President typically writes a letter.
…the only phone calls a family receives are the most important phone calls they could imagine, and that is from their buddies. In my case, hours after my son was killed, his friends were calling us from Afghanistan, telling us what a great guy he was. Those are the only phone calls that really mattered.
…there’s not much that really can take the edge off what a family member is going through.
So some Presidents have elected to call. All Presidents, I believe, have elected to send letters.
…There’s no perfect way to make that phone call.
When I took this job and talked to President Trump…my first recommendation was he not do it…
He asked me about previous Presidents, and I said, I can tell you that President Obama, who was my Commander-in-Chief when I was on active duty, did not call my family… I don’t believe President Bush called in all cases. …But I believe they all write.
…Our President three days ago, he elected to make phone calls in the cases of four young men who we lost in Niger at the earlier part of this month. But then he said, how do you make these calls? …I think he very bravely does make those calls…
So he called four people the other day and expressed his condolences in the best way that he could. And he said to me, what do I say? I said to him, sir, there’s nothing you can do to lighten the burden on these families.
…Let me tell you what my best friend, Joe Dunford, told me, …He said, Kel, he was doing exactly what he wanted to do when he was killed. He knew what he was getting into …and my son’s case in Afghanistan when he died, he was surrounded by the best men on this Earth: his friends.
That’s what the President tried to say to four families the other day. I was stunned when I came to work yesterday morning, and brokenhearted at what I saw a member of Congress doing. A member of Congress who listened in on a phone call from the President of the United States to a young wife, and in his way tried to express that opinion — that he’s a brave man, a fallen hero, he knew what he was getting himself into because he enlisted. There’s no reason to enlist; he enlisted. And he was where he wanted to be, exactly where he wanted to be, with exactly the people he wanted to be with when his life was taken.
That was the message. That was the message that was transmitted.
It stuns me that a member of Congress would have listened in on that conversation.
Absolutely stuns me. And I thought at least that was sacred. You know, a lot of things were sacred in our country. Women were sacred…life, the dignity of life is sacred. That’s gone.
Religion, that seems to be gone as well….
And when I listened to this woman and what she was saying, and what she was doing on TV, the only thing I could do to collect my thoughts was to go and walk among the finest men and women on this Earth. And you can always find them because they’re in Arlington National Cemetery. I went over there for an hour and a half, walked among the stones, some of whom I put there because they were doing what I told them to do when they were killed.
The Daily Caller published Trump's call to a Gold Star widow after her husband was killed in Afghanistan; you must see and share. This is important because it sheds more light on Pres. Trump’s character under such circumstances.
There is willful ignorance when some refuse to accept that America formed as a nation after winning the War of Independence and established a civil form of government that was an EXPERIMENT. From the very beginning, America was borne with political strife. Two of the founding fathers were at odds about the role of the federal government: Alexander Hamilton wanted a big dominant central government, and those who wanted the same in 1787 called themselves Federalists. Bankers and businesspeople in the north financed the Federalists; thus they become the first political party in the fragile newly formed nation. Thomas Jefferson understood that the federal government should be small and decentralized so in 1796 his supporters formed the Democratic-Republicans also known as anti-Federalists.
The founders were united in the Declaration and War of Independence but divided on how to implement a government already established by the same Creator from whom life, liberty and social progress flow. There isn’t a more exceptional form of civil government than the one revealed in the Scriptures—the Bible. We can expect things to get worse unless the biblical ethics are applied to all areas of life. I can assure you nothing short of that works. Jesus will never be wrong in what he has revealed regarding the only two types of social trees there are: bad ones and good ones.
Let us not be surprised at how vicious and foul politics have become and will continue to worsen unless true measures from God are implemented. Every public servant must be knowledgeable of God’s moral law and govern accordingly knowing that one day they will stand before Almighty God and give an account of all their actions. You can rest assured that God will never ask about a political affiliation, religious denomination, skin color or how well you handled political correctness. It will be all about what kind of fruit you produced, was it good according to God’s ethical character or was it diseased and bore nothing but bad fruit, which manifested in evil ideas. Reality cannot be faked, and that goes for every one of us.And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment Hebrews 9:27 (ESV)
