Pro-life Momentum on the Rise in America

A historical thing took place this past week. President Trump became the first sitting President to speak personally at the annual March for Life in Washington D.C. We are encouraged because this is a step in the right direction toward thrusting the eradication of the abortion on demand issue in our country. We are more than overdue for reversal of the Roe v. Wade ruling. Each year the crowds at the March for Life get bigger and this year was no exception. It was wonderful to see so many young people in the crowd who showed up to stand up and be counted with such passion about this important issue. This strength among our youth for protecting life gives us hope for the future of our country.

A misrepresentation of the pro-aborts is that the pro-life activists are against women—that is absolutely false, and to make it clear the slogan of this year’s march clearly refutes it by declaring, ‘Pro-Life Is Pro-Women’. To further carry this out, pro-life organizations are not just praying and protesting outside abortion clinics and on the steps of government buildings, they are opening and establishing pregnancy care centers all across this nation to offer further assistance to women and their families, men included. They offer free ultrasounds, mentoring, financial support and even offer adoption of these babies if the mother, or both parents, choose life.

Science is also giving the Pro-Life movement a boost, which is causing conflict in those who work in the abortion field now. The Atlantic reports:

When Colleen Malloy, a neonatologist and faculty member at Northwestern University, discusses abortion with her colleagues, she says, “it’s kind of like the emperor is not wearing any clothes.” Medical teams spend enormous effort, time, and money to deliver babies safely and nurse premature infants back to health. Yet physicians often support abortion, even late into fetal development.

As medical techniques have become increasingly sophisticated, Malloy said, she has felt this tension acutely: A handful of medical centers in major cities can now perform surgeries on genetically abnormal fetuses while they’re still in the womb. Many are the same age as the small number of fetuses aborted in the second or third trimesters of a mother’s pregnancy. “The more I advanced in my field of neonatology, the more it just became the logical choice to recognize the developing fetus for what it is: a fetus, instead of some sort of sub-human form,” Malloy said. “It just became so obvious that these were just developing humans.”

Scientific progress is remaking and will continue to remake the debate around abortion because it will continue to “discover” that life begins at conception. God is always right! Let’s keep up the fight for life!
